No jailbreak
GeoPilot uses Apple's own developer location feature, the same one app developers use to test their apps.

What you need
All free, and the setup walks you through each one.
- An iPhone with iOS 17 or later, with Developer Mode turned on (setup shows you where).
- A Mac with macOS 13 or later, Apple silicon or Intel. Only for the one-time setup and renewing.
- Xcode, Apple's free app from the Mac App Store, with your Apple ID added. A free Apple ID works.
- LocalDevVPN, a free app from the App Store. GeoPilot Go uses it to talk to your iPhone without a computer.
Questions
Do I need a computer?
Only a Mac, once, for a 5-minute setup, and again for a quick refresh when the app needs renewing (see below). Day to day, everything happens on your iPhone.
Is it a jailbreak?
No. GeoPilot uses Apple's own developer location feature (Developer Mode), the same one app developers use to test location features.
Can I use Cellular Data?
Yes. iPhone only lets GeoPilot Go connect while Cellular Data is off, so if you're on cellular, turn it off for a moment while you set your location. Once it's set you can turn Cellular Data back on. Wi-Fi is always fine. Keep GeoPilot Go open in the background: closing it from the app switcher puts your real location back.
What's LocalDevVPN?
A free app from the App Store. GeoPilot Go uses it to reach your iPhone's developer location service on the iPhone itself, so you don't need a computer. It doesn't send your traffic anywhere. Setup shows you exactly what to tap.
Why do I need Xcode?
GeoPilot uses Xcode, Apple's free developer app, to sign GeoPilot Go with your own Apple ID, so the app is installed in your name. You add your Apple ID inside Xcode, so your password goes only to Apple. Setup shows you how, with pictures.
What happens after 7 days?
Apple makes apps installed with a free Apple ID stop opening after 7 days. To renew, plug your iPhone into your Mac and click Refresh in GeoPilot. It takes about a minute. With a paid Apple Developer account, the app lasts a year.
How many iPhones can I use?
Every plan includes 1 iPhone, and you can add more (up to 3 in total) from the app.
Can I always go back to my real location?
Yes. Restore Real Location is one tap and always works, even without a subscription or internet.
Is there a Windows version?
Not yet. Setup needs a Mac for now.
